The Castillo de Pavones is elegantly perched on a mountainside with a direct view of the famous Pavones point break, the longest left breaking wave in the world. From the windows and balconies, you can look down on the canopy, which slopes to form the Rio Claro River. You will witness the birds soaring below over the canopy treetops. We have recently renovated and added a stunning rooftop bar and lounge. Dine in our ocean view restaurant. Here we serve incredible local foods with fresh ingredients directly from Pavones, prepared by the most talented cooks in the area! The eatery’s Brazilian-style buffet is packed: all-you-can eat pizza, a salad bar with organic vegetables, nuts, fruits, and berries, and platters of jumbo river shrimp, seared Ahi tuna over mashed potatoes, filet mignon, and chicken skewers. Guests can climb onto the rooftop deck to gaze at the sea or spy on toucan families in the canopy above

World-Class Surf and Activities
A five minute walk down the hill brings you to the ocean, river, and directly in front of the beginning of the famous point break wave. A ten-minute walk and you're in the center of town. We can book your boat trip to Matapalo for surfing, fishing, snorkeling or scuba diving. Horseback riding, private guided hikes and canopy tours can also be arranged through the Castillo. Also let us arrange a organic spa treatment at the nearby salon. The aptly named Rio Claro, which translates to "clear river" in Spanish, winds past Castillo de Pavones's property and empties at the beach. Visitors often swim or tube down the length of it.
